About the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund
The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund was the vision of Freedom Alliance founders LtCol Oliver North, USMC (Ret.) and the late LtGen Edward Bronars, USMC. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund honors Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships for their children.
The mission of the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund is two-fold. First, it helps offset the high cost of a college education for the sons and daughters of American heroes. Second, it is a reminder to the recipient that their parents’ sacrifice will never be forgotten by a grateful nation.
The dependent children of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled in an operational mission or training exercise are eligible to apply. Also eligible are students who have a parent classified as a Prisoner of War or Missing in Action.
The generosity of patriotic Americans has made it possible for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund to award more than $3 million in college scholarships to the sons and daughters of American heroes.
About Freedom Alliance
The Mission of Freedom Alliance is to advance the American heritage of freedom by honoring and encouraging military service, defending the sovereignty of the United States and promoting a strong national defense.
Freedom Alliance, a 501(c) (3) educational and charitable foundation, was founded in 1990 by LtCol Oliver L. North, who now serves as the organization's honorary chairman.
Testimonials
Thomas Deacy
“I want to thank Freedom Alliance Founder & Honorary Chairman Oliver North, President Thomas Kilgannon, and all the members of the Freedom Alliance team who made my scholarship possible. It is only because of your generosity that I have the opportunity to do my very best at the University of Florida, and I deeply appreciate all of your support over the past years. I know I would not have had the current academic advantage if I was doing my studies and having to work to help pay my education & living expenses. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“It is difficult to express the gratitude I feel towards Freedom Alliance and its donors. The best I can do right now is to continue to do my best academically to reach my career goals. After my dad’s stroke last year, I have a deep interest in Traumatic Brain Injury, which a staggering number of our Soldiers are affected by. It is my hope that I may be able to help these victims one day.
“Please thank the supporters of the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. Please let them know their gifts are truly appreciated and help make dreams come true. They are investing in America by investing in the children of America’s heroes. I will always remember that Freedom Alliance sees potential in me, which has been a great motivator. I look forward to the day when I can invest in America through your scholarship fund.”

“My father’s pride for the Marine Corps has helped me to develop a deep love for my country and a respect for all those who have served my country. I am proud of his sacrifices, his patriotism as a result of those sacrifices and the education that those sacrifices gave him. I hope to one day make my father as proud of me as I am of him.”
